WASHINGTON, DC- Today, United States Senator Ken Salazar released the following statement congratulating the Colorado Rockies for sweeping the Arizona Diamondbacks last night 6-4, taking home the National League pennant. The Rockies will now head to their first World Series to play either the Boston Red Sox or the Cleveland Indians. "The Rockies
are the hottest team in baseball right now. But they aren't only hot,
they are darn good," said Senator Salazar. "They
have made history in their run to their first World Series. Their doggedness
and tenacity represents the attitude prevalent here in the Rocky Mountain
West. This is an exhilarating time in Colorado and the entire state
is rooting for them." ###
