Sen. Salazar Hopeful on Tentative Farm Bill Agreement

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, United States Senator Ken Salazar released the following statement regarding conversations he has had with House and Senate agricultural leaders in recent days confirming that the Farm Bill conference committee has reached a tentative agreement on the Farm Bill conference report. Conferees are expected to meet in the coming days to continue negotiations and hopefully reach a final agreement on the conference report.

“I am pleased to report that the Farm Bill conference committee has reached a tentative compromise that, barring an unforeseen breakdown in negotiations, will allow the conference to produce a final Farm Bill. This final Farm Bill will positively impact all Americans and make important investments to revitalize rural America. I am hopeful that in the coming days the conference committee will produce the final Farm Bill and Congress will swiftly move to its passage and get it to the President’s desk for his signature.”
