Sen. Salazar Lauds Vestas' Announcement as Proof that Colorado is Quickly Becoming the Renewable Energy Capital of the World

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, after learning that Vestas Wind Systems announced that it intends to build “the world's largest wind turbine tower factory in Colorado,” United States Senator Ken Salazar released the following statement:

“Companies like Vestas are igniting a new energy economy in rural Colorado while helping America broaden its energy portfolio so that we are less reliant on foreign oil and more friendly to our environment,” said Senator Salazar. “The jobs created by Vestas’ announcement will be an economic force multiplier to the region of Colorado where the factory will be located. I look forward to learning more about Vestas’ announcement and furthering Colorado’s leadership in renewable energy production and technology advancement.”
