Sen. Salazar Congratulates CSU on $1.5 Million Grant for Biofuel Research

WASHINGTON, DC – United States Senator Ken Salazar released the following statement congratulating Colorado State University (CSU) for winning a $1.5 million grant from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to fund research into the use of nonfood plants for biofuels.

“This is a great day for CSU and a testament to their leadership in the renewable energy revolution. By taking American-grown biomass from trees, corn husks, and grasses and putting them in our vehicles, CSU is going toe to toe with OPEC and tackling our dependence on foreign oil. These are the types of advanced biofuels that are going to help us get real choices at the pump.”
